Delta forced to make emergency landing as smoke pours from engine

Around a half hour after take off from Atlanta, Georgia, on Delta flight 30 bound for London, a small fire broke out from one of the jet’s engines forcing an emergency landing.

Smoke was seeing coming from the engine as it departed Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, so it immediately returned to the airport.

Rescue and fire crews were ready to hose down the smoking engine upon landing.

The aircraft was then towed back to the concourse with the passengers still onboard.

All passengers have since been safely evacuated. No injuries were reported.
