Saudia suspends Toronto flights amid Saudi Arabia-Canada quarrel

The Saudi state airline Saudia suspended flights to and from Toronto on Monday, the company said on Twitter.

The move comes amid a worsening diplomatic row between Ottawa and Riyadh, which recalled its ambassador and gave the Canadian one 24 hours to leave after Canada’s criticism of the kingdom’s treatment of human rights activists.

Riyadh maintains that Canada has interfered into its internal affairs and has been freezing cooperation in areas including trade and education.
