The partnership between Reunion’s home airline Air Austral – a French registered airline – and Air Madagascar has been filled with yet more life, when earlier in the week a new codeshared flight connection was launched between Reunion’s Roland Garros International Airport and the southern Malagasy city of Fort Dauphin.
The two weekly flights will be operated by a Boeing B737-800, one by Air Austral and one by Air Madagascar, both code shared.
The service will on its return from Fort Dauphin to Reunion route via the city of Toliara, also located in the south of Madagascar, and both flights will have full traffic rights on all sectors. Air Austral in 2017 won the bid to partner Air Madagascar and promptly acquired a 49 percent stake in the airline. Both airlines have since launched a number of code shared services including flights to Europe and Asia.
