Last week on Air India flight #AI-121 from Delhi, India, to Frankfurt, Germany, a senior cabin supervisor slapped a junior flight attendant for serving a non-vegetarian meal to a passenger in the business class section who wanted a vegetarian meal.
The passenger in question pointed out the wrong meal to the cabin supervisor but did not complain and was given a replacement. In the cabin galley, there was an argument between the supervisor and the junior attendant, when all of a sudden, the former lost her cool and slapped the colleague. Both of the crew members are females.
The airline has now grounded the supervisor since that March 17 flight and sent her for crew resource management training. The junior colleague did not retaliate but did later file a complaint.
In India, many people are strict vegetarians due to religious restrictions.
