Air Tanzania will get two additional Airbus A220-300 aircraft, due for delivery in either late 2020 or early 2021, according to information received from Airbus in Toulouse.
Air Tanzania was Africa’s launch customer for this aircraft type, bought when it was still called the Bombardier CSeries before Airbus acquired the majority stake in a joint venture with the Canadian manufacturer.
Air Tanzania is also expecting the delivery of a second Boeing B787 aircraft though suggestions have been made that an all Airbus fleet might serve the purpose better, i.e. having purchased the state of the art A350 or A330neo instead of the Boeing aircraft.
Meanwhile has EgyptAir also taken delivery of their first A220 as part of a multi aircraft order now being assembled for the Egyptian flag carrier.
