easyJet has obtained shareholder approval and confirmed its purchase of 157 more aircraft from the A320neo Family. The order consists of 56 A320neo and 101 A321neo planes, with an additional 35 A320neo being converted into larger A321neo aircraft. This agreement aligns with easyJet‘s strategy to renew and expand its fleet while significantly enhancing sustainability measures.
The A320neo Family has received over 18,000 orders from nearly 140 customers in all markets, making it the most popular single aisle aircraft in the world. Among Airbus‘ A320neo Family, the A321neo stands out as the largest member, offering exceptional range and performance. By incorporating advanced engines and Sharklets, the A321neo achieves a 50% reduction in noise, more than 20% fuel savings, and a decrease in CO2 emissions compared to previous generation single-aisle planes.
Additionally, it provides passengers with maximum comfort in the widest single-aisle cabin in the sky. Airbus ensures that all A320 Family aircraft can already operate using up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and their goal is for all their planes to be capable of using up to 100% SAF by 2030.
So far, more than 5,600 A321neo aircraft have been ordered by over 100 customers worldwide.
