International Air Transport Association (IATA) data shows that aviation and tourism sector’s contribution to UAE economy will increase to $128 billion over next twenty years.
According to Mohammad Albakri, regional vice president of Africa & Middle East at an IATA event, currently aviation and tourism sector’s share in the United Arab Emirates’ gross domestic product (GDP) is 13 percent at $47.4 billion.
Two of the world’s largest airlines, Emirates and Etihad, are based in United Arab Emirates.
UAE’s aviation and tourism market is likely to support 1.4 million jobs in the next 20 years, from 800,000 jobs now.
