Cabo Verde Airlines withdraws all flights from Rome

Discover the World, the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Italy of Cabo Verde Airlines (CVA), officially announced that the airline has canceled all flights from Rome Fiumicino Airport starting July 31.

The reason for the pullout is “for lack of available aircraft,” as previously announced by the GSA, complaining about the difficulty in communication from the carrier and the inability to replace in full the activities of Cabo Verde Airlines.

In a previous communication, CVA relied on the opportunity to receive an additional aircraft to operate the route from Rome to the Sal hub and then proceed in the direction of Brazil.

“We have repeatedly asked CVA to send an official statement to the Italian market about its operational situation, without success,” said the Operating Director, Gianbattista Sassera, in a note sent to tour operators and travel agencies.

According to the airline, operations were interrupted, or carried out in fits and starts, due to the lack of aircraft available on the market. Finally, a B767 in the 266 economy-class version, was about to be delivered to the company which would have made it able to restart interrupted operations with circular flights, for example Sal-Lisbon-Milan-Sal and Sal-Recife-Fortaleza-Sal.

However, the aircraft is no longer be available, so Discover the World is unable to proceed with the reprotection of all passengers given the absence of responsibility for the carrier.

As a result, the GSA has listed the contacts that travel agents and operators can use to get all the information on reservations, complaints, and refund requests.
