Budapest Airport has announced a major expansion in partnership with Ryanair, as CEO Michael O’Leary unveiled new flight routes, increased flight frequencies, and the addition of two aircraft based at the airport. This collaboration strengthens their successful commercial partnership, contributing to the airport’s recovery in preparation for the upcoming summer season and facilitating future growth.
New Aircraft: the introduction of two new based aircraft since S23, taking the total to 10 and signifying a milestone in the partnership.
New Routes: six new connections to Milan, Tirana, Faro, Frankfurt-Hahn, Trieste and Skiathos on the airline’s network from Budapest, offering passengers more diverse travel options,
Increased Frequencies: 20 other routes, including Alicante, Bari, and Rome, will see frequency increases, further enhancing connectivity for travellers.
In 2019, the airline served 1.553 million domestic passengers, and by 2023, this figure surged to an impressive 4.144 million, marking an outstanding 33% increase and demonstrating impressive growth and operational success at Budapest. Operating flights to a network of 62 cities in 2023, the latest announcement will see Ryanair offer 66 total destinations throughout S24. Solidifying its position as a key player in the Budapest aviation market, the carrier offers travelers a diverse range of choices for both domestic and international travel.
