China Eastern Airlines has launched a new air route connecting Shanghai and Cairo, the capital of Egypt. This route represents a significant milestone as it signifies the inaugural direct passenger flight operated by a Chinese airline between Shanghai and North Africa.
The nonstop China Eastern Airlines flight from Shanghai to Cairo is offered on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Similarly, the return flight from Cairo also departs on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays according to local time.
Passengers on the 10-hour journey can enjoy Wi-Fi services throughout the entire flight, as the airline operates the route using their newest Airbus A350-900 wide-body airplanes, featuring an advanced passenger service system and onboard Wi-Fi connectivity.
The airline’s goal is to ensure passengers enjoy a smooth travel experience. To achieve this, the outbound flights are scheduled to arrive early in the morning local time. This allows passengers to either explore the ancient city or easily connect to other destinations in Africa and the Middle East.
Passengers traveling from Cairo can benefit from the extensive network of Shanghai Pudong International Airport, a prominent international aviation hub in China. This airport provides convenient connections for inbound flights, allowing efficient transfers to other Chinese cities and various destinations across the Asia-Pacific region.
