Porter Airlines is marking the commencement of daily roundtrip flights connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) today, promoting enhanced connectivity and cultural interchange between the two dynamic cities.
The route is serviced by the advanced Embraer E195-E2 airplane, providing a spacious all-economy seating arrangement for 132 passengers. With a comfortable two-by-two layout, there are no middle seats on this aircraft.
The E195-E2 stands out as the most eco-friendly narrow-body plane, delivering a 65% reduction in noise and up to 25% greater fuel efficiency compared to older models. It surpasses other 120- to 150-seat aircraft in terms of fuel consumption per seat and per trip, while also boasting the quietest operation among single-aisle jets currently in service.
Alaska Airlines has recently announced a partnership that enables passengers to benefit from Porter’s extensive coverage in Eastern Canada. This collaboration also offers additional opportunities for connecting flights through LAX to 11 popular destinations along Alaska’s well-established U.S. West Coast routes, such as Portland, San Diego, Seattle, and Phoenix.
