Ottawa Airport: When your limit is the sky

In 2017, Ottawa played host to Canada’s official 150th birthday celebrations, with record visitor numbers recorded.

The enthusiasm for travel to the region is showing no let-up in 2018 with Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport reporting a 4.4% increase in passenger numbers year-on-year for the period January to July.

The July figures were especially encouraging, with 446,000 passengers using the airport during the month, an increase of 8.7% on July 2017. The fastest-growing cohort was international passengers (those from outside of Canada and the United States), with a 9.5% increase in passenger numbers.

UK holidaymakers can fly directly to Ottawa year-round with Air Canada in just seven hours from London’s Heathrow Airport.
