Qatar Airways’ Al Darb Qatarisation Programme and Rolls-Royce, one of the airline’s major strategic partners, hosted two successful training programmes at the Rolls-Royce Learning and Development facility in Derby, United Kingdom, earlier this month, designed to enable Al Darb Qatarisation participants to benefit from Rolls Royce’s leadership and expertise.
The annual Business Management and Commercial Awareness training courses, which each took place over five days, saw 40 top Al Darb candidates fly to the UK to participate, as part of the award-winning airline’s commitment to develop future leaders of the national carrier.
Nationals from various departments throughout Qatar Airways, including Commercial, HR, Finance, Contracts, Technical Engineers and Captains took part in the courses, which were delivered by Rolls-Royce professionals, and consultants and professors from UK Universities. During the courses, participants learned from experts about various subjects beneficial to the aviation industry, including corporate strategy, financial management, culture and leadership. The final two days of the course saw the talented Nationals put their learnings to the test, as they were challenged to develop plans to create their own successful airline, in a real-time simulation exercise.
Qatar Airways Senior Vice President – Human Resources, Ms. Nabeela Fakhri, said: “Our partnership with Rolls-Royce continues to grow and develop, and we are proud to be able to offer bespoke training to our Nationals not only locally in Doha, but also internationally. “At Qatar Airways, we are dedicated to providing our Nationals with the necessary training and development, and are excited to see them continue to grow and develop info future leaders of the airline.”
Rolls-Royce Head of Customer Leadership Development, Dr David Ashworth added: “We are proud to support Qatar Airways’ Al Darb Qatarisation programme. By building on our strong partnership, we are able to offer our training expertise to Qatar Airways future leaders and also offer all the delegates on the course, including those from Rolls-Royce, the opportunity to benefit from shared experience.”
