Saudi Day: A reason to celebrate at Abu Dhabi Airport in the UAE

Abu Dhabi Airports is celebrating the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), with a number of activities highlighting the close ties between the two countries. KSA National Day falls on September 23, and Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) is providing special offers and prizes for Saudi nationals from September 20 – 25.

Saudi Nationals arriving to, or departing from, AUH will have the opportunity to win one of 10 VIP Terminal’ Diamond Lounge passes. Selected at random, the lucky travellers are able to enjoy the luxury facility for up to three hours before their flight, including entertainment and business facilities, complimentary high-speed WiFi and food and beverage services.

The VIP Terminal service also allows those arriving or departing at AUH to wait in comfort and style while their travel procedures are being taken care of.

Visitors arriving from Saudi Arabia will be greeted with scarves, pins, flags and chocolates along with national music and Al Harbiya performance to mark the occasion. In addition, joint UAE and KSA immigration stamp is being used across the five days. In addition, selected flights arriving from Saudi Arabia will be greeted with the traditional water cannon salute used in celebrations within the aviation industry.

A range of deals are also available for Saudi Nationals, including a discount of 88% on the purchase of a second bag wrapping service. Thrifty Car Rental and Mechri are also offering a 10% discount on limousine services for Saudi Nationals. Additionally, Mechri will be providing a free shuttle bus for Saudi guests, departing from AUH with several hotels in the city as possible destinations.
