In a travel landscape where the popularity of educational travel continues to grow, and travelers seek new experiences in old destinations, The National WWII Museum and renowned historian and author Dr. Don Miller have come together to create Masters of the Air, an eight-day journey though London and the East Anglia hills of England. This October, the trip will take guests through the historic hills where U.S. airmen were based, fell in love, and from where they took flight to fight for our freedom.
The National WWII Museum creates unique travel itineraries for dozens of historic, educational-based trips throughout the year, attracting guests from across the U.S. and the globe. Dr. Miller, author of The New York Times Best-Seller Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought The Air War Against Nazi Germany, will take guests through the English countryside, exploring airfields and discovering what it was like to be part of a bomber crew. Miller’s masterful storytelling brings to life the air bases, landscape, and history of East Anglia in England. His passion for the men of the Eighth Air Force creates an emotional experience available only through The National WWII Museum’s program.

The trip provides VIP access to historic WWII sites and cultural attractions, with each day of the trip offering a new perspective on the war. East Anglia, where the “Bomber War” was headquartered, is a stunning region which remains rural farmland to this day. Guests will stand where history was made; discover the villages that had prewar populations in the hundreds before buzzing with the energy of thousands of pilots, crew and support staff; and learn about American heroes Robert “Rosie” Rosenthal, Louis Loevsky, and Eugene Carson.
Pricing for the eight-day Masters of the Air journey from October 2 – 10, 2018 starts at $5,995 per person based on double occupancy.
