Tanzania based and grounded Fastjet wants to resume operation. Yesterday Chairperson Lawrence Masha urged the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) to allow the airline to resume flights.
According to the Chairperson, the idea is not to generate profit, but to generate enough cash to settle debts.
Fastjet had leased to planes prior to the government ordering them to stop operation for 28 days.
TCAA Director General Hamza Johari told the local Daily News, he knew nothing about Fastjet request to resume flights.
On December 17, TCAA issued an order for Fastjet to close operations, until it submits a working plan and let TCAA know how the company was to run the business after the withdraw of its partner Fastjet PLC based in the United Kingdom.
