The National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO ) published new data in November 2023 showing that 5, 279, 813 foreign visitors arrived in the United States, an increase of 15.9 % over the previous year.
Also, 7, 359, 922 US people left the country for international travel in November 2023, an 11.3 % increase over the previous year.

• The total number of non-U.S. resident international arrivals to the United States increased year over year ( YOY ) for the 32nd consecutive month of November 2023.
• November 2023 marked the eighth consecutive quarter with a total of over 2 million foreign visitors.
None of the top 20 tourist-producing nations to the United States reported a drop in visitor size starting in November 2022.
The United Kingdom ( 297, 862 ), Japan ( 152, 843 ), and Brazil ( 133, 489 ) had the highest number of foreign visitors. 65.5 % of all international visitors came from these top 5 source industry combined.
Deviations from the United States abroad
• In comparison to November 2022, the total number of foreign visitors from the United States who were U.S. citizens left the country at 7, 359, 922 increased 11.3 %, and 101.6 % of all departures occurred in November 2019 before the pandemic.
• On a U basis, complete U.S. citizen worldwide visitor departures from the country increased for the 32nd consecutive month of November 2023.
• From November 2023 to the present (YTD), 89, 032, and 208 foreign visitors from the United States as U.S. citizens left the country were leaving, an increase of 23.0 %. North America’s ( Mexico &, Canada ) YTD market share was 49.9 %, while it was 50.1 % abroad.
Mexico had the highest outbound visitor volume, with 3,059,179 ( 40.7 % of total departures for November and 36.6 % year-to-date (YTD) ). U growth in Canada was 15.4 %.
47.5 % of all international visitor departures by U.S. citizens were caused by YTD, Mexico ( 32, 575, 482 ) and the Caribbean (9, 684, 111 ).
With 1, 224, 397 absences, Europe was the second-largest market for outgoing U.S. customers. 16.6 % of all departures in November and 21.0 % year-to-date (YTD ) were due to this. Compared to November 2022, outbound travel to Europe increased by 14.2 % in December 2023.
