Tianjin Airlines has launched a new route from Sydney via Zhengzhou to Tianjin starting on January 30, 2018. This is the company’s second transcontinental flight to Australia. The new service will operate every Tuesday and Saturday on an Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 18 business class and 242 economy class seats. In the future, Tianjin Airlines will continue to accelerate its internationalization and launch more direct international flights around the world.
The first flight arrived at Sydney Airport on the morning of January 30, 2018. Tianjin Airlines Deputy Chairman Mr. Zhao Guoqiang said, “We are delighted to announce our new service from Sydney to Zhengzhou and Tianjin. Sydney is the center of culture, economy and tourism in Australia. Many Chinese people live in this great city. With this new route, we hope it will further enhance cultural and economic exchanges between China and Australia.”
Mr.Geoff Culbert, Chief Executive Officer of Sydney Airport has given warm welcome to Tianjin Airlines and all the passengers of the first flight. Officers of Sydney Airport and National Tourism Organization attended the ceremony to celebrate this happy moment together.

This new route also initiates Tianjin Airlines’ international student program, which echoes Australia New Colombo Plan, and plans to provide Australian students who satisfy certain requirements free tickets to fly to China and study in Chinese universities in order to enhance Australia-China cultural exchanges and mobility of talents. In the future, Tianjin Airlines will launch more air routes from Australia to China, providing more choices for international students to visit and study in China.
