Air Niugini customers are now able to receive “Trip reminder” notifications through short message service (SMS) on their mobile phones and also email.
This follows the implementation of flight information messaging tool which went live on last Wednesday 21st November, 2018.

The trip reminder notifications basically remind customers of their upcoming trip at least 24 hours prior to departure.
Other notifications on flight updates, cancellations, delays and schedule changes will be rolled out progressively in the coming weeks.
Air Niugini’s general manager, commercial services Dominic Kaumu said the sabre custom message tool is very convenient as it allows the airline to communicate directly with customers through email and SMS.
“All valid mobile phone numbers and email addresses provided by the customer during booking will now receive a trip reminder, flight updates and other related information via text message or email,” he said.
“We have now started with Trip reminder. Once we roll out the messages on flight cancellations and delays, this will ensure convenience for our customers who will not have to travel all the way to the airport only to find out that there has been a change to their travel.”
