Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian to showcase future of travel with CES 2020 keynote

Delta Air Lines will showcase the transformation of the air travel experience at CES 2020, making history as the first airline with a keynote address and a major presence in the exhibitor showroom.

On the main stage and throughout the event, Delta will reveal trailblazing consumer innovations impacting the future of air travel, now and for years to come – reducing stress while adding convenience, comfort and enjoyment to the experience.

“Travel has become an essential part of our lives, and CES is the perfect stage to show the world how technology and innovation – combined with the best employees on the planet – will transform the future travel experience for customers across all points of the journey,” Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian said.

The keynote address at the world’s premier innovation and technology forum will take place at 2 p.m. PST Tuesday, Jan. 7, in the Venetian Palazzo Ballroom. The address also will be webcast live, with details made available by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA®) before the event. Delta will announce details about its experiential showroom exhibit later this year.

“Biometrics, AR/VR, mobile technology and more are simplifying travel today and fundamentally changing travel in the future,” said Gary Shapiro, President and CEO of CTA. “This is a growing, trillion-dollar industry supporting millions of jobs across the world. Attendees will be able see and experience for the first time the promise technology holds for the travel and tourism industry and we look forward to hearing from Delta who is leading the way.”

Delta’s 2020 keynote follows Bastian’s appearance on the CES main stage in 2019 as the guest of IBM CEO Ginni Rometty for a discussion on how Delta embraces new technology for the benefit of customers and employees.
