Emirates presents super lounge at Fiumicino Airport

Emirates consolidates its role as carrier of reference for the routes on the Middle East, inaugurating its new lounge at Fiumicino with the pride of 600,000 passengers transported each year from Fiumicino and Dubai, which is the second intercontinental destination after New York after the Roman airport.

The Rome Leonardo da Vinci Airport Emirates lounge, an area of 950 square meters, stands among the most spacious lounges in the Roman airport.

“It is the 42nd lounge of the carrier with an investment of 4 million euros and the unique plus to offer direct access to boarding the aircraft,” underlined Flavio Ghinghirelli, the country manager for Italy of Emirates.

The new lounge has a relaxation area with 160 seats, a toilet with showers, and a refreshment corner, and it is well integrated with the service pluses reserved for Premium passengers who are also offered a personalized transfer from the city to the airport. The new Emirates space in Rome Fiumicino is also available for incentive groups after an agreement required by the organizing agencies to the airline staff.

The flight mission is consolidated as a travel experience reiterated by Ghinghirelli, which recalls the network from and to Italy with three daily flights from Milan Malpensa, one flight from Venice and one from Bologna.

To these must be added from the upcoming summer season 2019 flights from Catania and Naples operated by flydubai, a carrier with which Emirates is consolidating the partnership on strategic markets such as Italy, which this year will close the operating outcome with an increase of traffic of +13%.

A a result that rewards the efforts made by the airline on some highly-remunerative basins of reference. “With Fly better,” Ghinghirelli added, “that is the slogan of Emirates, we want to reiterate the concept of a carrier that puts the passenger customer at the center of the attention of each activity. At the moment, Emirates operates with 2 daily flights from Rome with airbus A380.”

The CEO of Aeroporti di Roma, Ugo De Carolis, said: “This lounge is a further milestone for our airport. The Emirates philosophy on pax customers is the same as adopted by AdR. We intend to continue in the field and offer pax comfort and speed in accessing services.

“The experience at the airport must be an integral part of the journey – have pleasant environments with shops, restaurants of excellence, and wifi in every area. During the Christmas period, we will have to welcome at least 1.5 million passengers, and it will be a good test for our airport.”
