A plane crashed about a half mile from the Fort Collins-Loveland Airport in Colorado. Witnesses reported seeing smoke coming from the aircraft before it crashed, said the executive assistant of the airport, Shawn Battmer, at 4900 Earhart Road.
The twin engine Beechcraft made an emergency landing when it crashed and burst into flames just after 1 p.m. today. It was reported that at least one person died.
According to Carie Dann, spokeswoman for the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, “We’re not sure exactly what caused the crash.”
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration have been called to the scene. They will determine how many people were aboard at the time of the crash.
