The first Airbus A321neo, which was built at their recently established A320 Family Final Assembly Line ( FAL ) in Toulouse, has been successfully transported by the company.
The A321neo, which will be operated by Pegasus Airlines, a well-known low-cost carrier (LCC ) in Turkey, is the first shipment from Airbus ‘ most cutting-edge manufacturing facility. This assembly line, which is housed in the previous A380 Jean-Luc Lagardère structure, demonstrates Airbus ‘ commitment to updating operations and meeting the growing global demand for the A321neo. At the moment, it accounts for nearly 65 % of the company’s A320 Family order backlog.
The A321neo, which is the largest version and has remarkable collection and efficiency, is a part of the Airbus A320noo Family. The A321neo significantly reduces sounds, fuel consumption, and CO2 emissions compared to older single-aisle planes thanks to its sophisticated engines and Sharklets. Also, it provides passengers with extraordinary convenience in the largest single-aisle cabin on the market. Requests for more than 5, 600 A321neos have been placed by over 100 users worldwide.
There are currently 93 Airbus plane in use by Pegasus Airlines, including 6 A320ceo, 46 a320neo models, and 41 A321nex models. The airport has also ordered 68 A321neos.
The start of the new Toulouse FAL ramp-up is signaled by the aircraft supply to Pegasus Airlines. This, along with the A320 Family FALs in Tianjin ( China ), Mobile ( USA ), and Hamburg ( Germany ), will help Airbus reach its objective of producing 75 aircraft per month by 2026.
