Heathrow Airport responds to Autumn Budget

Responding to today’s Autumn Budget, Heathrow CEO, John Holland-Kaye said:

“We welcome the Government’s announcement that passengers from more countries will be able to use the eGates at Heathrow . eGates offer a world-class immigration process whilst keeping Britain’s border secure. The Government should make this happen before the end of March 2019 to demonstrate that Britain is open for business, as we leave the EU.”

Heathrow is the second busiest airport in the world by international passenger traffic, as well as the busiest airport in Europe by passenger traffic, and the seventh busiest airport in the world by total passenger traffic. It is one of six international airports serving Greater London. In 2017, it handled a record 78.0 million passengers, a 3.1% increase from 2016.
