Honolulu – Sydney flight hydraulic System forced plane to turn around

Honolulu – Sydney is a route offered by Hawaiian Airlines. Passengers booked on today’s nonstop from Hawaii to Australis left at 11.57 am on Sunday

There were two hours of unexpected adventure and excitement for passengers when the captain turned HA 451 around to make it back to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

There were 201 passengers aboard.

An indicator light in the cockpit indicated one of the three hydraulic systems might have an issue, was the reason.

There was no emergency and the plane landed without incident, she said. The airport deployed fire engines as a standard precaution.

Hawaiian Airlines communication was unavailable and issued no further comments.
