Iran: ‘No documented proof’ of Mahan Air ban by Germany

Iranian civil aviation denied some media reports that Germany is planning to ban flights of Iran’s Mahan Air to Germany in January, Press TV reported.

“We have not received any documented proof in this regard and we do not confirm such reports,” Reza Jafarzadeh, spokesman of Civil Aviation Organization of Iran was quoted as saying.

On Saturday, western media reported that Germany will ban flights of Iran’s Mahan Air to its Dusseldorf and Munich cities after intensive deliberations on U.S. demands.

Since December 2011, Mahan Air has been subject to several sanctions imposed by the U.S. Department of Treasury for its alleged violation of international laws.

The U.S. government has imposed sanctions on several companies for their links to Mahan Air, including a Thai aviation company and a Malaysia-based sales agent.
