Love Jet flight lands in Indonesia with relief aid

On October 3, 2018, the special flight VJ2611 themed “Love connection” landed in Jakarta (Indonesia) carrying nearly 7 tons of relief aids including canned foods, blankets, necessaries etc. to support the victims the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia.

The flight not only transported Vietjet’s relief cargo but also symbolized the love and empathy of Vietnamese people to the affected people of Indonesia.

This is an emergency action and initiative conducted by Vietjet in within three days. The airline’s leaders and employees have quickly organized the flight, handled technical preparations, completed the flight permit, as well as launching a voluntary donation campaign throughout the airline to make the flight happen.

In the evening of September 28th, the 7.5 magnitude earthquake off the coast of the island of Sulawesi created a tsunami that devastated the coastal areas of Palu and Donggala. Authorities estimated at least 1,300 people were killed and the death toll is expected to rise. Around 16,700 people have been displaced and 2.4 million people need humanitarian aid.

In 2013, after the super typhoon Haiyan destroyed many cities in the Philippines, Vietjet operated two flights transporting relief cargo and taking Vietnamese victims home safely. The airline also organized many relief flights to Vietnam’s central region after the floods and “Spread the Love” with free flights to take underprivileged people home to celebrate the Lunar New Year holidays.

Volunteering and charity works have become a part of Vietjet’s corporate culture to share the love and support the disaster-hit and underprivileged people.
