Lufthansa Strikes Again

ITB is concluded, and for many, Lufthansa strikes forced participants to depart a day early.
Now ITB is finished, but new strikes have already been called for midweek.
Flight attendants for Lufthansa will not serve cocktails on Tuesday and Wednesday but attend picket lines again.
The UFO (Independent Flight Attendant Union) instructed its 19,000 flight attendants members to go on strike on Tuesday from 4 am to Wednesday, March 13 11 pm. It will cripple air traffic in Germany and show that flying on Lufthansa remains a gamble many passengers may not want to take in the future.
It’s expected that all Lufthansa departures from Frankfurt will be canceled on Tuesday, March 12. On Wednesday, March 13, the same will happen to all Lufthansa departures from Munich.
This comes after Lufthansa announced record profits of 1.7 billion euros last Thursday. 2023 was the third-best in the airline’s history.
UFO board member Joachim Vazauez feels cabin staff should be part of this record profit, not only shareholders.

UFO wants a 15% salary increase for Lufthansa and Cityline cabin staff plus EURO 3,000.00 to compensate for inflation.
The UFO union was founded in 1992 and represents airline crew, mostly working for Lufthansa and Condor. This union competes with the DGB Union, so coordination between the two unions is unlikely, causing a double dose of strikes on different days and for different reasons.SOURCE: Lufthansa Strikes Again BY: eTurboNews | eTN
