Air Italy announced the launch of a direct flight from Milan Malpensa to Bangkok starting from September 9. The new link will be active 4 times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The outbound flight takes off from Milan at 1445 with arrival at 0650 local time in Bangkok the next day, while from Bangkok the return is scheduled at 0850 with landing at Malpensa at 1540. On Monday the timetable changes and includes departure from Milan at 1855 (arrival in Bangkok at 1100 am) and from Thailand on Tuesday at 1300 with arrival in Italy at 1950.

The opening of this new route is part of the development plans envisaging in 2018 6 intercontinental flights from Milan Malpensa and 5 domestic services. It starts on May 1 with multi-day flights from Rome, Naples, Palermo, Catania, and Lamezia Terme, which have been designed to connect from June 1 with Malpensa – New York, followed on June 8 by Malpensa – Miami and then on September 9 from Malpensa – Bangkok.

“Following the launch of the Milan – New York and the Milan – Miami, the opening of the Malpensa – Bangkok line represents a significant step for the development of our new network which, from the Thai capital city, starts to include an important Oriental destination,” said Andrea Andorno, Commercial Director of Air Italy, “The use of an Airbus 330-200 on this route will introduce our passengers to a completely new travel experience: they will be able to enjoy an exclusive quality service cut out on their comfort needs.”
