No drone collision with British Airways jet at Heathrow

It was reported by local media in social outlets that a drone had collided with a British Airways passenger jet today. As it turns out, this happened in 2014. British Airways contacted eTN and categorically denied this had happened today.

London’s Heathrow Airport did stop all flight departures today after a drone was sited at Heathrow Airport in London before 6:00 pm.

As a precaution, the airport suspended all departures, leaving aircraft stranded on the tarmac.

Airport officials are working with police to clarify the situation.

According to British Airways, there was no collision with any of their planes.
In the meantime flights resumed at Heathrow following the drone sighting.
