NordStar and Swiss Air passenger jets narrowly avoid mid-air collision over Moscow

NordStar and Swiss airlines’ passenger planes nearly collided in Moscow airspace, according to media reports.

A source in the airline industry told the media that the planes made a ‘dangerous rapprochement’. According to the information provided, the Swiss aircraft heading from Geneva to Moscow, on the approach to the Russian capital, the warning sensors that alert pilots of possible aircraft collisions in the air went off.

A Swiss jet flying from Switzerland recorded a dangerously close approach of the NordStar airline’s aircraft that was flying from Moscow to Zakynthos, Greece, the source said. NordStar is a Russian airline based in Norilsk, Russia.
