Ottawa, Windsor join Toronto with Porter Airlines’ nonstop Orlando service

Porter Airlines arrived in sunny Orlando-Melbourne, Florida, this weekend with inaugural nonstop service from Ottawa and Windsor. Toronto also resumed its seasonal service with direct flights from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

The weekly service operates from Dec. 16 to March 31, for Ottawa and Windsor, and until April 7 for Toronto. Service from Toronto includes twice weekly flights during peak periods, plus three times weekly for March Break.

“There is significant demand from Canadians to visit Florida throughout the winter months. Having non-stop Porter flights from three cities makes the overall trip faster and easier for more people this season,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “Porter is the only Canadian airline flying to Orlando-Melbourne, providing easy access to a variety of Atlantic Ocean coastal experiences and major attractions.”

Orlando-Melbourne is located just 20 minutes from Port Canaveral – the world’s second largest cruise port – 30 minutes from Kennedy Space Center and less than 10 minutes from the beach. Other popular attractions, including theme parks, are within an hour’s drive.

“Porter passengers especially appreciate our airport’s proximity to miles of beaches and the world’s most popular cruise lines and theme parks,” said Greg Donovan, A.A.E., executive director of Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB). “MLB is proud to serve as Porter’s non-stop gateway to all Central Florida has to offer.”
