A New Dream Airline for Flight Attendants: Air Transat

The Air Transat flight attendants have a new social contract signed, making them the highest earners in the French aviation sector. After attending information sessions on February 19 and 22, the flight attendants voted with a majority of 62.7 % in favor of ratifying the recommendations made by federal mediators. This previously approved agreement includes a 30 % increase in overall pay over the course of five years, especially from November 1, 2022 to October 31, 2027.
The first two salary levels will be abolished for flight attendants who have less than three decades of seniority, allowing them to gain a significant raise and direct access to the next level.
Additionally, this new social contract will increase the number of individual keep days and vacation days and maintain the allocation of crew seats on any flights with a duration of 7 hours or longer and on those departing from Canada after 10 p.m.
We are now coming to an end with considerable pay increases for our flight operator members after a protracted and complex trip. In light of the dedicated attempts made to sustain the business during financial difficulties, which were followed by the devastating pandemic decades, and a period of soaring inflation, Chantal Bourgeois, CUPE National Representative, remarked that this adjustment is absolutely well-deserved.
Two regional unions are present at airports in Montreal ( YUL) and Toronto ( YYZ ) as part of the Air Transat Component. It is a section of the Airline Division of CUPE that advocates for the above 18,500 flight staff employed by different airlines, including Air Transat, Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, Sunwing, Encore, Calm Air, American North, Pivot Airlines, Flair Airlines, PAL, and Pascan.
