Nominations for the Southwest Airlines Board of Directors are Made Public

The Board of Directors has put forward a list of 14 candidates for election at the approaching Annual Meeting of Owners on May 15, 2024, according to Southwest Airlines Co.’s Proxy Statement, which was made public now. As originally communicated, the Board is pleased to select Lisa Atherton as a new Director. But, Managers Ron Ricks and John Montford have decided not to get election.
Gary Kelly, the senior chairman of the board of Southwest Airlines, thanked Ron and John for their unwavering support for the business. If all individuals are elected, the Board will include 14 people, which is a lower from the latest membership of 15. As the Board’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee grows, it seems natural to predict a gradual reduction in size as it gets closer to traditional levels in the forthcoming years, according to Veronica Biggins, chair of the club’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Bob Jordan, president and CEO of Southwest Airlines, thanked Ron and John for their important contributions and contributions to the business.
