Russia: American sanctions have no impact on aircraft protection

Data from the last five years indicate that American sanctions have not had a significant impact on flight safety in Russian legal aviation, according to the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency.
The Federal Air Transport Agency, also referred to as Rosaviatsiya or FATA, is the Russian state organization in charge of managing the country’s civil aviation sector.
According to Russia’s heat safety watchdog, there are no overtly unfavorable trends in the annual reporting of incidents.
According to reports, there are about 800 incidents involving Russian passenger and cargo plane each year, with professional and power problems responsible for 485 happenings between 2019 and 2022.
In the first 11 months of 2023, 670 commercial aircraft incidents were reported by Rosaviatsiya ( December data are not yet available ). 400 of these occurrences had a connection to malfunctioning equipment. The controller pointed out that this figure is directly correlated to the overall number of airlines that have been completed, which is expected to fall in 2022 and 2023 as opposed to 2021.
The statistics of the organization take into account information from 116 airlines that have an air driver’s document. The top five airlines in the nation, Aeroflot Group, S7, and Ural Airlines, transport about 65 % of passengers. According to estimates, foreign-made plane account for about 95 % of the customer churn.
Rosaviatsiya documented six incidents in full in 2019, two of which were connected to technology malfunctions. 23 civil aircraft incidents occurred the next year, from 2020 to 2021, with seven of them being related to equipment problems. There were 15 incidents in 2022, but only one was caused by technology failure. In terms of the current time, there have been eight happenings in the first 11 months, one of which was connected to equipment failure.
Engine problems are most frequently brought on by breaking website airworthiness maintenance or trip activity restrictions, according to the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency.
